Pine is very bad for corns and should be avoided at all costs. I dont know about other snakes but it is harmful to corns. Beech, aspen, hemp, newspaper etc are all ok for corns ;D Dave please consider changing it to something else asap

The reason most people will not use pine is because Pine can give off toxic vapours although there are not many cases of it harming reptiles, most people will not take the chance. It is also prone to resin around the knots which may be sticky.
I am not by any means saying dont use it, as many people do. There are a lot of mixed views on it but I just thought I should tell you about it incase you preferred to use something else ;D

It's 1 of them that i wouldn't use, but i do know other people have without problems for years, but others who have had problems.
Dave if it's working and theirs no ill effects (laboured breathing, RI, normal poop etc) I wouldn't be to concerned, just bear it in mind as those are usually the first symtoms to crop up when using pine(from what i've reead anyway).
As always tho, i trust your judgment Dave as i know you know what your doing.

yeah, ive been watching for RI's with tiny as bcis (young) seem to get them so easily! the corns seem to be really happy though and to my knoledge there all healthy, i will be taking tiny to bj herps soon to get everything checked out (noticed a scar on his under belly when i got him which by my guess may be caused by the old owner using a snake hook on him ) and all others are pretty good! ;D thanks vicki and john for checking it out for me and i always appreciate what you have to say
