Thanks ;D She is more yellow than she looks in that pic, she was a bit cross and actually struck at me just after that pic was taken (that was after 4 hours of her being in a pillow case though). They were both really placid when I held them for the first time, just hoping they settle well now

Really nice snake Vicki, just watch them teeth, they hurt (i saw a bite mark from a jcp on a mate).
Can't wait to see the male, and the resulting offspring.

I just had to post this as I was made up, this little lady has been in hiding since I got her (unlike the male who is always out). Oh and Amber, id say if you want one then get one!! They are fantastic, the male is the calmest snake I have ever held, same temprement as my Royal really. They are snappy as youngsters but as adults as long as they are handled they are usually great. I cant really comment on the female as she hasnt been out yet, she was quite unsettled when I brought her home and has been hiding since. Im planning to feed again tonight then handle her friday. She will have had 4 feeds by then so I think she will then be as settled as shes going to get.

Wow she is brilliant. They have got a couple of young ones at the reptile shop. Just curious, is a 4ft by 2ft big enough for a fully grown one.

For an adult jcp 4 byt 2 should be fine shrimply. I still go off the old term that " as long as a snake has to bent no more then 1/3 of its body when laying along the longest side, the viv is just about the right size" So a 6ft long snake can live comfortablry in a 4ft viv, and a 12ft snake in a 8ft viv and so on, you get the idea lol.

Thanks Those vivs are 4 x 1.5 and 2 foot high. They do like to climb and perch. It is rare that they use hides, my male never does, but you should put at least one just incase. The female tends to curl up (like in the pic) but the male uses the full length of his viv, and always watches whats going on. So its important that they have things to climb on, as their name suggests, they do come from the jungle! My females shed measures just over 6 foot, but the male is about a foot longer. JCP's are smallish carpets compared to some others, for instance the costals can get much bigger. Then again, there was a pic on another site of a 10ft JCP!!

I know what you mean about the branches and shelves, all mine have the option, and chocky and blizzard both use their shelf, and zeus uses his full lengh brance every day (as well his light gaurd) to perch on and be "nosey" from. Funniley enough tho the sand boa's don't climb at all, just dig and burrow, but they have branches as well to give them the option.
Nice male btw, looks similar scale wise (the dry, pronounced scales) like a friends bp.

Thanks for the info. I never realised that i could keep so many different things in the viv I am building. My oldest corn who is very nosey uses his climbing branch loads but only curls up on the shelf behind the plant when iin shed.
