ok so ive had bp's and corns and now im thinking of getting the snake ive always wanted. a macklotts. ive read that they get 7 or 8 feet. im getting one from lllreptile.com/ its a sub adult 4-5 feet i was wondering how big a cage i need for that size. and how big an adult cage wud be. also i was wondering what type of cage i shud use i read aquarims shuoldnt be used they dont hold much humidity. my freind said there aggresive so now im thinking about mabye getting a savu could someone help.

Both the macklotts and the savu are very similar snakes with the mac's being the more aggresive of the 2, a lot of people can't get past the jeuvenile nippiness, but a docile adult is an absolute JOY to work with, so see if the snake your interested in is handleable (yeah it might bite occasionally, but what snake doesn't). Savu's are very similar, but do tend to calm down quicker and not be quite as aggressive.
This is just info I've picked up from my local shop as i've never had eather, so do a good search on care and temprament to find out more, and i'll see if i can find out anything else that will be more useful.
Care is pretty easy. Treat them as you would any other python species really, basking spot in the high 80s/low 90s, and ambient temp 77-82. Keep the humidity high - 60% is usually pretty good for them, with an adult comfortably living in a 6 by 2 by 2 viv (4 by 2 by 2 will do for 1 thats below 6 1/2-7foot long, but the 6ft long viv is better imho).
