Hubby found this about 1 hr ago while mowing the lawn. It is very lucky it wasnt shredded by the lawn mower. Its very thin and i removed 2 ticks from it. It has eaten 2 small fuzzies as thats all i had suitable.

Hi i live in northern ireland. Its a tame one didnt mind being held as i removed the ticks and then i coated in a solution of Frontline (just bought this morning). It is very thin you can see its backbone raised up and it seems to either be going into or out of the blues. I thought it was a corn snake but i cant see a band across its eyes do all corns have this band?

Sorry forgot to say i will enquire if anyone owns it, if not i will keep it probably. Where i live i have never heard of anyone having a corn snake. After this i know someone did and either lost it or threw it out .

Its the same as a corn in every other way. I will make enquiries around and if i dont find anyone i will probably end up keeping it(not that i needed it) but i couldnt see the wee thing come to any harm.

It certainly is a corn just checked on it and now that it has warmed a little and settled i can see the line above the eyes its just a more faint line than my own normal corns line.

It's definatley acorn, theirs no question about that. Good find, some people are so lucky to find those things , and for them to be friendley to boot!!! It's a little underweight, but appart from that looks good from the pic's. I wish you every hope of keeping him/her or finding the owners, if they want to be found that is. Good luck eather way.

Its very lucky you found him,Due to its size its most probobly a escapey. Someone told me once that his mate lost his corn as a yearling and a few years later he found it living in his garage ay a healthy weight and everything as it got the heat from the heater in the garage and was eating mice that were scurrying in there. So it might of been the same story of yours but it is a bit skinny.

Looking at it, it might actually have escaped last year. The reason being, with the size of it i think it's been in burmation during some or all of the winter and that would also explain the slimness of it.
Thats just a theory though, but i recon it's a good possabilaty.

Awe thanks everyone. St. Patrick was supposed to have rid Ireland of snakes haha Well all is well so far Lucky (think thats appropriate) has been resting all day has still kept the 2 wee fuzzies down and seems to be enjoying the heat.Haven`t been able to find an owner seems very strange how it turned up in my garden. How long would they be able to survive outside like that? The nights have been very cold here with frosts last night there was a heavy frost so i guess it was very lucky or it might not have lasted much longer. I`ll just wait and see what happens now but looks like i`ve got another corn snake.

Maybe someone knew you already had corn snakes and dumped it on your front door but the snake got out and went adventureing because they didn't want because i do doubt it that by chance got into your back.
