Is it really a big deal NOT TO HOLD AFTER A FEED or is it alright for a short hold after? Because my dad had fed Doug and I didn't even know so I held him for about 20 minutes. He didnt seem stressed and he didnt regurgitate but that may be because he only fed him only one when he's supposed to have two.

I usually give my corns 5 mins after feeding, but thats it, no more as i don't want t bring on a regurge. My boa's i wouldn't dream of handleing as they can get into the routine of regurgeing (regurgatation syndrome), but this is mainley a boa thing i think? (if not just boa's let me know).
As long he doesn't throw it up in 48 hours you should be clear. Hope this puts your mind at ease.

well thanks John. I tyhink it may be the same with boas because one time when I was at the pet store and one of the guys that works at the reptile section just fed his rtb just to show some people then afterwards he let me handle him while he got me some fuzzies.

i wouldnt hold it till the bump has gone in the belly, its very uncomfortable for the snake! all snakes shouldnt be held for atleast 2 days after feeding

and john, i think pythons can also get into a repetative regurge thing if they arnt left right! i dont handle any of mine cos (as i said above) its uncomfortable for them and for two it can be a nasty result if you stick your hand in to pick up a boa or python whilst they are in feeding situations! i have to usher my boas and python out of the feed box which is dangerous enough!

Snap i do the same with zeus and sandy. Normally i don't handle any of them except to put them back in the viv, but it's normally only a 10 second job.

Hello everyone been quiet here lately! I dont handle any of mine for 2-3 days after feeding although after i got my caramel i fed her and the next thing she shed ( a bad shed) so rather than leave the skin on her tail i had to assist her thankfully she was ok and didnt regurge. She must have gone through the blue stage in the shop and was cleared again when i got her. Thankfully her sheds are good now.

Carmelo tends to find a comfortable spot to sit and digest food.
After I just had a big curry I don't like the idea of being picked up either.
So I keep myself to wait until 3 days after the meal or after the first poop. Usually I notice when I am welcome to handle Carmelo again, because gets active again during the day. Willow is still hiding a lot, being teh newby, so I try to respect her privacy until she gets a little braver.
