Can they sense water because every day when I change his water he comes over for a drink?
Is it good for them to have a big enough water bowl for them to fit in because he absolutly loves water. I have caught him doing this thing a couple of times but it is really hard to explain. He puts his body on the rim of the bowl then goes underneath that part of body with his head to make sure every bit of him goes through the water. ;D

Probably does and yes a big enough water bowl is good because they seem to like to have a little bath to help hem shed. My ghost cuba likes to have a small dip after he eats sometimes.

It isn't just when he is going to shed it is all the time . I usually would put a larger bowl in when he is shedding(don't have one yet) Just wondered if it should be permanent

Yeah i think they can pick up water particles through their tongue, as my blizzard does the same thing (including drawning herself, lol). She always takes a rink after she's eaten or been handled and is on her way back, sometimes taking a dunk as well.

Does she stick her head right under almost like she is trying to dive down and push around the edge of the bowl just like mine?

yep, about once or twice a week and stays under for 15-20 sec's, then comes to the top and floats whist she has a drink before pulling herself through the water and into the viv.

Exactly the same behavior as mine only he does more often. I think I will try and get a slightly larger bowl at the pet shop today. Just have to try and find one without DOG written on it.

Cuba does put his head under too for a few seconds.Plastic lunchboxes are good for water bowls(the ones with the sealing lid)which also can be used as moss boxes.

Never used a moss box. I it a good idea? I think I would like something untippable as when I had a lighter bowl his under water antics lead to it tipping over a few times.

Yep moss boxes are great as they help them shed and when breeding season coms they also lay their eggs in it.There pretty easy to make jut get some damp papertowls and put them in a plastic box with a whole cut into the lid so the snake an come in and out.Or you can use sphagnum moss andthats what i prefr to use as it holds moisture more.

Yeah just for shedding, i spray instead of using a moss box, but they have the same effect during shedding.

Do you like my small moss box for Granite? It is an old fish food box. Can it replace a regular hide when they are shedding? Do you need to replace the moss each time or can you just let it dry out and the moisten it when needed?
