Many of you may remember little Hope, my hatchling who nearly died. The sad news is that I have come to the decision to send her to snakey heaven to end her suffering She has never learnt to shed and each time I am having to soak and peel her over a few days as she makes no attempt to shed at all. I dont think she will ever learn. She is taking about an hour to eat a pinkie and always miss strikes by about an inch(bad eyesight). She has gained no weight at all since hatchling in July and is still smaller than a newly hatched. Her jaw is miss aligned and doesnt close properly and her eyes are deformed. So after a lot of thought about her spending the rest of her life suffering I have now decided its best to end it for her. A tough and sad decision but hopefully the best. Anyway, here she is. This is the state of her before I peeled her shed (as you can see it just seperates from her body) And this is her head, you can see the jaw and also the way her eyes are covered by skin at the bottom.. I have now done all I can for her and believe she will never get better as she was just born deformed.

Dear Vicki, I am so sorry to hear about hope but i think that you have made the right decision. No one can say that you have not tried everything possible to help her and as you say wot kind of a life would she have. Its just a shame that youve had to make this decission. bethany

That is very very sad. At least you did all you could and i am sure it was a very hard decision to make.
Many people would have not even given her a chance to live whereas you gave her the best chance in life you could. Sadly she is obviously unable to get better but at least you gave her a chance to.

She's almost certainly incurred a degree of brain damage through a glitch in the gestational process. poor little thing... You're doing what is best for her, I'm absolutely sure of it. Sorry Vicki, I know you tried so hard, but sometimes it's just not meant to be.
