Last night I fed Granite a fuzzy which I didn't think was that much bigger than those she had had before. She took it down no problem but the lump was massive. Then she started to go into the hole on top of her pot but she got stuck and i had to hold the pot still while she pulled herself free. She kept jerking like they do before a regurge and I was sure she was going to bring it back up. However at the minute it still seems to be inside her, I haven't had a really good look because i don't want to disturb her. The pot has been replaced.
I am really worried about her and feel really bad. Is there anything I can do now to help her keep it down(I don't think there is)

Nothing to help keep her down, that i know about anyway. If granite keeps it down then just make the hole a little bigger (about 1cm should be fine, or 2cm for when he goes onto small mice).
I would stick with those fuzzies tho, as long as the lump isn't to big then everything should be fine and should be leveled off after 4-5 feeds.

Thanks John. It is just one of those times when you see what is going to happen but have no way of stopping it. If I had tried to stop her going in she would just have went faster in and I hoped she would realize the hole was too small. 24 hours on she still has it down so I suppose she has a really strong stomach. It is so upsetting when you see signs that you know indicate a regurge but there is nothing you can do.
I had a bigger saucer ready that I had already cut out a way in so I have put that in instead.

If the mouse hasn't been regurged yet then i think things are safe and she'll keep it down (90% sure now anyway).
Good result, but remember to make the hole bigger everytime you move up a food size and all should be well.

Yeah the lump is almost completely gone now so I am happy that everything is in order. The pot had been getting a bit small anyway but I never dreamed she would go in the small hole in the top with such a large lump when there is a perfectly large entrance at the side. Then again this is the snake that managed to put her shed back on.

Aww I only just saw this thread. Glad all is ok now though. I was going to say if anything happens like that again turn up the temps a few deg, will help them to digest quicker so less chance of a regurge
