My Christmas presents finally arrived today. Lots of books. 1)What's wrong with my snake 2)277 things your snakes want you to know 3)Corn Snakes the comprehensive owners guide So lots of reading for me ;D Also I have been told if I do well in my exams I can get another snake. Decisions, Decisions. I really want a boid but I don't know anymore than that apart from I am not allowed a BCI or bigger But that is not till summer.

Whats wrong with my snake is a good referance book, and the comprehensive guide is top notch.
As to a boid, what about a brazilian or rainbow boa? Braziliand hit about 6foot with 7 foot for an odd 1, and columians are usually around the 4.5-5foot mark. Their a good step up from corns and get you ready for bigger snakes like the bci and bcc morphs......

Some kind of carpet python may be a good choice for you.

Yeah the books are all great. I would recomend them all. Even the "277 thing your snake wants you to know" has a good few tips in it.
I agree that Kathy love's book is great. I have the corn snake manuel but I shouldn't have had it near my fish tank during a water change. lol
I was lookin at at carpets or royals but I love them all. Still not to sure about rainbows I hear they can get nasty. I really aren't that worried about how difficult they are to look after because I won't get one till I know exactly what it needs. That is why I am starting researching now.

Actually it is recommended you look into rainbows after learning how to look after other boids, as their husbandry requirements aren't as easy to meet. www.newenglandreptile.com/CareBRB.htmlOnce you can get the humidity right they aren't that difficult. Mine are really nice snakes, Phantom biting me was mostly my fault, and could of been avoided quite easily if I had been paying more attention to his behaviour, they seem to grip tighter when nervous. All seem to start life striking at everything, so if you can get one that is past that phase you should be fine, but if not they are said to calm down very quickly anyway. Mine were never really handled before I got them (at around a year old) and both are quite calm. Before getting mine I was kinda worried about their temperament, but most people with adult BRBs say they are puppy tame. I love my ball pythons though, between the baby bps, and my rainbow boas I'm not sure which has the strongest feeding response. There are a lot of awesome snakes out there, I wish you luck in choosing just one!
