Hi everyone. I am just about to purchase my first corn snake and would really appreciate any advice?? Firstly what is the average price of a snow corn? as the one I am looking at is £75. And what size of viv would a 5month hatchling go into? Also how do you go about handling hatchlings? do you wait for them to come to you or just pick them up. Thanks

Weclome you have came to the right place but you really should have done plenty of research on the net beforhand.Snow corns usual price is £30 for a hatchling.A 5 month old corn would go into a small plastic tub or small glass vivarium.

Thanks Lozzer, Been doing a lot of searching but the prices seem to be really varied and the instructions on how to keep them. The pet shop recommended a 3 foot viv for it! Sorry to ask more questions but could anyone recommend anywhere else I could get a snowcorn?

Where abouts do you live?
As to the viv a 3foot long viv would be fine for the snake as an adult, but for a little 1 a small plastic or glass tank would be perfect.

Hi there, this site has some great info, and the people here know there stuff, I'm still quite new to keeping corn snakes, I have 7 month old anery which was my first ever snake. I tried to read everything I could about keeping them, then got him, and he's great, we are bonding really well now.
I keep him in a 20" glass tank, when corns are young they like things small, I have read that as babies they do much better in smaller tanks then big ones. When I first got him I left him in his tank for about 4 days, I only changed his water everyday, then I put my hand in, and left it there so he could pick up my scent, then I would try and hold him, they are very fast and it was hard first of all but they soon settle down as they get use to you, I would recommend short handling times over there viv at first then build it up.
