Channel Five, eight o'clock: Austin Steven's Adventures: Killer Pit Vipers.
You'd think a guy making a snake documentary would have the decency to keep words like "killer" out of the name of the programme! No wonder people are scared of snakes. Still, should be worth watching.

If it's anything like the pythons last week, then yeah it'll be worth it.

Please not Austin Stevens again. All his catches are staged and every venomous snake is a venomoid(venom glands removed)and alot of people are annoyed how he handled this frilled dragon one time.If you havn't notcied his shows always have a name like "Man eating snakes of asia" or "The giant lizards of the world" and "The snake that killed cleopatra". Steve irwin is alright as he's alot more knowledgable but he still stages his catches. Im not just saying this because im british but the only real herpetologist out there with his own proggrame is Mark Oshea he never stages and everything he does isn't rehearsed. He's also the leader of the International Herpetology Society.

To be honest, I totally get why they stage a lot of their catches, the shows wouldf suck a lot more if they didn't. Austin Stevens doesn't seem all that great as a reptile handler, but he isn't too bad. Ya can't say getting that python in the tree last week was staged, and was quite impressive. I liked his show witht he Komodo Dragons too. Steve Irwin is a fool, and a lucky one at that, he is way too sure of himself it is a wonder he isn't dead already. I still agree Mark O'Shea is the best!
