Wish I didnt have a credit card! I reasoned with myself that I can make the money back through breeding them. They are both over 5 foot and 5yrs old. They guy has a feeding/shedding record of them both since he got them at 4months old. Sounds genuine but the pics he sent me wernt too good but you can see that they are females and he said he has recently has this confirmed anyway. As far as i can tell they are normals, i will e-mail the pics to you now and see what you think John

I thought they were normals. He just described them as red and orange with distinctive black lines round the saddles.

They look like a carolina/okeetee cross, but i'm not possative. I don't like the look of the 1 with the large buldge near the tail though (unless it's ready to lay?).

Oh my god! Once the babies hatch your house is going to have more snakes that everyone in the whole forum put together!
Credit Cards are great, my pet shop has a baby lepoard gecko. Its the cutest thing on four feet and I'm so tempted the only thing is I might not have enough room in my flat.
Good Luck! ;D

oh and john i think the bulge was caused by over feeding, as snakes put fat on at the sides and not up the middle. hence the 1cm extra at each side of the vent. i would advise u not to go for it viki but it is your choice after all

Thanks Paul.
Vicki, if you do get it it will take at least 12monthes to get the fatty deposits to go down, and during that time other problems may arise. I'm with Muphesto on this, i personally wouldn't want to take it on.

Thanks for the advice/warning. I didnt get them. He said the bulge was the egg sack but didnt want to risk it especially as only one of the snakes had a close up picture and that wasnt even that good. I really appreciate the time you all took to look into it and advise me. I think i just got a bit over excited. Hopefully something else will come up. Im crossing my fingers for an Okeetee although Ive heard they are quite hard to come by.

We just advised, what i suspect you already knew . I know this will be expensive ;D, but Kathy love does import to the Uk and she has the best okeetee's i've ever seen. I think its worth looking into, but find out ALL the cost's involed before desiding, that is of course if you go that direction.

Just read the thread about those snakes on livefoods. The guy e-mailed me this morning to say that the girl who won them lives too far away and cant collect them. I am tempted to get them and sort them out but im really not sure. I know its a big risk but i cant bear to think what will happen to them if they go to someone who has never had corns before.

How much does he want for them?

£120 for both snakes which are 5yrs old plus the two tier 4 foot viv, heat mats, lights etc. He will take £100 i think and deliver them....
Will this be an everlasting problem? He said the bulge was the egg sacks and he has just had them checked out by a breeder and they are fine. I was planning to get them to breed from but obviously i wont breed from them till they are sorted. How long do you think this would take. I think that both snakes have the same problem but i cant tell which is which from the pics as they both look the same.

I am in two minds at the moment. I have read quite a bit on fat snakes but I only know what I have read and have no hands on experience. I know it sounds mean but if i wont be able to eventually breed from them then i dont really want to take them on. But then i dont want to risk them going to a bad home. Anyway i still dont know if the girl who bought them deffinately cant get them. I just want as much advice as poss before I take this any further. Thanks ;D

It is a problem that will go away eventually with a diet and a lot of excersise, but it may be another 18-24 monthes before they will be able to breed saftley, when their size is reduced.
I wish i had the room and the money cause i'd have them, but i'm stuck myself at the min.
