Hi all just really excited about this so thought I would tell you all about it. Anyway not that long ago I wrote an e-mail to Edinburgh zoo asking if it would be possible to get a bit of work experience with their animals but sadly due to health and safety reasons they can't take anyone under the age of 18. If I go to Edinburgh University I think I will do some volunteer work there. Anyway I was a bit disappointed so sent another email to Edinburgh Butterfly World and just got a reply saying they would be happy to have me up in two weeks time. They have very wide range of reptiles and insects so I am really excited and will hopefully learn loads when I am there. And the week after that I am off to Switzerland so everything is going really well, just hope my exam results don't spoil it

that is awesome! Butterflies are very pretty, and I am sure you will learn lots! Yeah, butterflies may not be as fun as snakes/ or other zoo animals, but it sure beats working at a fast food place where the only hands on experience would be asking 'would you like fries with that?' best luckto you and have fun!! edf

Thanks all it has been confirned now I will be doing it monday to thursday, I can't make Friday as I am off to Switzerland with the scouts.
The guy at my local reptile shop knows the manager and another guy really well and says they are all really good up there. They took a big pair of Jungle Carpet Pythons of him not that long ago and he got a mass of yellow conda hatchlings. Also more good news, he has had clearance from the insurance company which means I am able to do work experiance there every Tuesday afternoon instead of going to school.
So all is good at the moment
