Hashie's a very sweet and gentile snake ... until it's mealtime.
Last night I fed her. My step-daughter wanted to see the strike/coil, so I let her stay up. Well, I presented dinner and Hashie did her thing. Katie moved in for a closer look. I think she moved too fast or something because Hashie released the head, looked up at Katie and I, and went into a strike pose. As if to say "MINE!!!".
I was thinking of moving her up to regular mice this time around, but thought about it and bought large fuzzies instead. I wish I had gone with the mice ... she had the fuzzie down in about 20 seconds. After she swallowed it was difficult to tell she had eaten.
And after she eats I don't dare get too close to her. She stays in a frenzy for about 15 minutes. Does anyone think that I am not feeding her enough?
Like I said, other than her ferociousness at mealtime, she's so sweet and gentile. I can put her on my neck and she'll coil around my hair and chill for an hour. She likes her chin rubbed. I can even give her a peck on top of her head (I know that snakes typically do not like the tops of their heads touched). I guess it's just part of her personality.

Try him with 2 fuzzies next time, and if both are eaten without any problems, regure's etc then feed like this another 3-4 times (or till you run out off fuzzies, which ever comes first) then small mice here we come .

This is exactly why I only buy 5 at a time. I'll double up the next 2 feedings (I know she'll eat 2) and go get some small mice. Maybe she'll be a bit calmer if her belly's fuller.
