Hello all, The other day in an airplane I watched the movie of Roald Dahl's The Witches. At one point a witch produces a snake, at which point us in the audience are supposed to gasp out of fear I guess, apart from the fact that it is a corn snake! I also noticed in another movie I watched on TV the other day (might have been a J-C VanDamme I am embarrassed to say ), where under menacing hisses a snake is pulled out of a vivarium. I'm sure the audience is supposed to be filled with fear, but it's just a milk snake. ;D It's funny how once you get into keeping snakes you start noticing that supposed ly scary Hollywood snakes are our harmless pets. I was wondering if anyone else has noticed any cool or funny snake scenes in recent movies you watched. Thought it might be a funthread to start... ;D

The best snake scene is in 1 of the indiana jones films, where if you look closley the snakes are striking at a sheet of glass, with jones behind it. You have to look close to see it tho.

Its because of things like these that snakes are mistrusted and misunderstood. Its the same with sharks and spiders... Jaws and Arachnaphobia, anyone?

The best way to get rid of phobias of animals like arachnids and snakes is to teach kids from a young age.Thats what im going to be doing when im older going round schools educateing with my snakes:)

yes i agree but like the white stripes videos snakes can also look pretty cool and harmless as on the video three snow corns slither across a woman they looked pretty harmles as one went across her face

Hehe was awesome... although too long. A year or 2 ago I was watching charmed, and they showed a bp as being evil... I haven't watched it since Bothered me much more than random cult people killing a boa in dark angel, for some reason... :s

Theres a great shot of a rattlesnake in The Island where Ewan McGregor bends down for a close look at it and it strikes at him

Yeah i enjoyed it, its got cracking action scenes, fairly slow to start but when it gets going its great. Its a good premise, but you get the feeling that if someone other than michael bay directed it, the background story would have been presented slightly better and explored farther. One of the most underrated films of the year, its well worth checking out.
