odd snake behavior

Ok, to start out, this is not a thread about my snakes acting weird in a 'are they sick' kinda way.

I have come across an odd situation, and was wondering if any of you's have simular situations.

When I first bought my boa, who is female, I asked of her tempterment. The pet store employee said she was docile, never struck at anyone. BUT the guy who brought th esnake in, said it lunged and hissed at his girlfreind, who did not like snakes at all.

I thought nothing of it until I read another post on another forum. This girl has a b/f who has a rtboa, the g/f hates snakes, and the snake lunges and hisses at her, bu tno one else.

Another person at that forum states that his female boa lunges and hisses at one of his room mates's girlfreind...
So, here are 3 situations where the female boa was showing signs of aggression to 3 people- all g/f's who didn't like snakes...

What are your thoughts on this? Do you think snakes can pick up on the fear/ dislike on the g/f's? Have any of you's come across a situation like this? I just find this very weird, and I am curiious to hear if it happened to anyone else.

I've personally not come accress this but i do think this is a similar situation which crops up with most animals., being that any animal can sence fear or nervousness and acts accordingly by instinct. I have heard of it before but just havn't seen it for myself (i always tell people who is handleing mine to be confident, even if their nervous, that way the snake will react more possativley and the person relax's thus gaining more confidence and makeing them feel at ease with the snake(s)).

my snake lunged at the side of my tank when my friend who hates snakes and is deathly afriad of them i think it might be they can sense the nerves of a person i mean when i was scared of snakes and i saw one it always lunged at the side of it's tank!
