Welcome to the site.
A rtb is a good snake, but i'd only get 1 if you've had any other snakes previously. As to a boa's size, they can range from 5foot, right up to around 12feet or more (males average 5-8foot, and females 7-11, witha big female being 11feet long or bigger).
Viv size is a consideration, a male can live quite happily in a 4-6 foot long viv thats 2foot wide and high. A female tho needs at least 6 foot by 2 by 2, with 8 by 2 by 2 recommended (or 8 by 3 wide and 5 high being the ideal home for a big 10foot plus female).
Saying that, males usually average around 6 foot, and can and do live a comfortable life in a 4 by 2 by 2 viv if handled 3-4 times a week or more, and a small female (6-8foot) will be comfortable in a 6 by 2 by 2 viv, again tho handling 3-4 times a week is a must. The ideal viv size is 8 by 2 by 2 (or higher if you can) for a female thats bigger then 7 foot.
For a baby boa (neonate) a 3-4 foot long viv by 18 by 18 inches will do fine for any boa upto 4 foot long.

Where you from? I do know a few people who breed them, but their UK based and i don't know any breeders stateside. I could as around tho as i know a few corn breeders stateside who will probably know someone if thats any help. As for a site, the best i know just for boa's is boa mad boamad.co.uk/ I know 1 of the mods on their and hes a breeder and all round top bloke and a mate, he can give you much more info then i can he's been breeding for years now), but for just general care and advice i can cover it.
