About a week or so ago I was feeding my Ball Python and while I was putting him back into his cage ( I feed him in a seperate container) he got ahold of my arm. At the time I didn't think anything of it since he had just ate and was probably looking for more. But since then everytime I go into his cage to try to get him out he snaps at me. I make sure to wash my hands and all so that I don't smell like food. Is this a normal thing or is there something I should do to get him back to his normal self?

It sounds like since the feeding he's assoiating you with being fed, so he's using an instict reaction. WHats he like when he's actually out, still snappy or pretty calm, or somewhere in between?
Le me know then i can better judge the situation and go from their with what to advise.

Once I get him out and about he just is really calm, most of the time. It used to be where he acted like he was nervoud about something earlier, but lately when he gets out now he is always nervous, it takes him about 10-15 min just to uncurl and start moving about.

Sounds like something spooked him to me, it could be something as simple as changing the soap you use to wash your hands or something compleatley different, but it's gues work (they generally do get used to the same smells/tastes and associate it with handleing or food ect).
In your situation i would persavier with handleing just every other day for around 10-15 mins max at a time, and if possible let him go back once he's come round and is fairley calm and go like this for a couple of weeks to see how things go, it should improve but if not then i've a few other solutions for you to try. Whilst doing this it might also be worth sleeping in a t-shirt and then placing it in the viv with him so he knows your smell well, but use an old t-shirt incase he poops on it (not saying you smell, but everyone has their own unique scent realeased when or if we sweat, and we all have a very slightley different pheromone scent).
Keep me posted on how this goes and im sorry for the late reply, mums in a full brace after a huge shoulder op so havn't been on as much as i usually am, but i'll be checking in at least once a day now. (almost 5 hours in theatre for the shoulder op, thats a long long time imho).
