Yer theyre terripins. Aslong as you don't get them mixed up with tortoises then your ok. Tortoises=land dwelling animals Turtle and terrepins=water dwelling animals.

a man in a pet shop close to my house, has just got tortoises in i realy wanted one but realy expensive about £200 plus the viv £120 awch ! a friend of mine has one her dad has had it 4 over 30 years i think. its huge lives in the conservitory he made it in to a huge viv with temp gages and stuff how cool would that be .

I have a Herman tortoise and i would only recomend them as a pet if you have the time and patience to look after one.And they can live other 60+ so think before you buy one.We love ours but they don't stay cute and fluffy forever lol. Ps if your tortoise doesn't live over 60 years then it died young.

my girlfriend had two terrapins, one died for some reason (it was eaten in its eaten box and when checked on later it was dead) the other one we took back to the pet shop and exchanged for 10 pinkies for me

I used to look after some red eared sliders, awesome animals , a bit nippy though lol.
