Last night me and Craig took Humbug to the local herp club. He was great, all the children were handling him and learning things about corns. He behaved like a right gent! They are having an open show on sunday so i may take my others along too. I think its a great opportunity for people especially children to learn about all types of reptiles.
Craig held the burmeese python, now he wants one, lol. When we walked in he said 'Theres no way i would ever hold one of those!!!' Dont worry were not getting one, just havent the space. Learnt quite a lot about them though and had a little cuddle myself ;D

ive done a few talks at primary schools and at my school when i was there that was quite cool i mainly took some of my smaller things like leopard geckoes, cornsnakes, kingsnakes and i used to have a friend with a quite large boa(no longer with us due to tumor ) and a 6ft burmese and we used to do the talk together its amazing how fearless kids are like asking to hold the snakes without fear and some liked holding the tarantulas the most which was good as arachnophobias a common fear,if i do anymore ill take some pics to show you all lee

It is a really good opportunity. I found that once on kid held him the were all coming up saying 'Can I holld you snake please?' It was great to watch them, one lad had Humbug coil around his neck and when I asked if he wanted me to take it off he said no i love it!
It was also a chance for me to learn too. There were all different snakes, gekos and spiders. Its not huge, id say about 30 people go but its only £10 for the year and I also get 10% off at the reptile shop as they sponsor the club.
John, have you tried posting the idea on CSFC as im sure you will find more people that live close to you, ive already found 2 without posting where I live, lol. You could also post leaflets in the local pet shops etc. Im sure it would be a great opportunity for you and others in the area. You could also speak to vets and pet shop owners to see if they are willing to do talk on things for you. Good luck ;D
