Yeah i saw it and fell in love. The guy in the reptile shop said it was about 6 weeks, maybe he meant months. I've never handled a snake before so i wouldn't have a clue, its all new to me!

Yeah, you're probably right. Might phone him and ask him again. I'm not particularly bothered, i just want to know how old s/he is!

I don't know about 6 months. My Greedy Granite is about three months and looks bigger than that.
As long as you don't mind can I ask a fellow scot where about you are in the country.

I'm from Kilmarnock, i've wanted a snake for about ten years, but only seriously looked into them about a month ago. Took the plunge last saturday, and i have to say i'm really enjoying life as "the snake guy" as i'm apparently now known...

We are quite far apart then. Yeah you'll get hooked very soon. Nobody can have just one, "the snake guy" isn't that bad People just think I am just weird and I must admit to occasionaly referring to the man who runs my local reptile shop as the exact same. Just out of interest did you where did you get your snake from was it from somewhere in Glasgow or somewhere closer. Hope you don't think I am nosey it's just good to have an idea where reptile shops are and can also be very helpful for anyone new to the snakes that needs to know the one closest to them.

Galashiels, about 50 odd miles i reckon. I got it from a pet shop in Prestwick, its not a specialist place, all guinea pigs and fish, but they keep a few snakes, geckos, spiders, etc. Its called Town And Country Pets, 01292 478 645 - no website - if you want to check it out. Where would you recommend? They want 60p a pinkie, and the only place in Killie that does them wants 73p! Thats daylight robbery, where dfo you get yours? I've been looking online, but i dont really need to buy 50, i would imagine it will be onto fuzzies before i'm halfway through them!

Yeah that is a real problem www.livefoods.co.uk/ might be an option. I use the reptile shop in galashiels and he does pinkies at a fair price but that is not really an option. I pay 35p a pinkie which I think is the top end of fair.

I'm only paying (now) 55p for a small adule mouse, 80 for a medium and £1 for a large. I can get 6 pinkies for £1.50 at my local shop, or 30p each.
Nice snake Meths, and i would say it would be around the 3monthes mark, guve or take a week or 2.

Hey shrimply, you wouldn't be able to recommend a decent vet, could you? Just in case...

Right I think other people might be better to help you out with vets as apart from anything else my geography is terrible. But here is a list I don't know if they are all listed but there are a few. www.livefood.co.uk/vets.htm#scotland

Thats really expensive! Still, £1.60 a week is cheaper than 50p a day for a dog!
