Im planning to build a rack very soon for hatchling and yearling tubs.
I plan to use 12x6x3 inch tubs for the hatchling and 24x12x6inch tubs for yearlings. Are these sizes ok or would it be better to have them a bit bigger for the hatchlings?
The shelves for the hatchlings will be 4foot long and have 8 tubs on each shelf. I am having about 4 shelves for these.
Also what about heating? I am thinking of using heating cable along the back if the rack on each shelf and attaching a thermostat. My other option is heat mats but this will work out more expensive.
Any suggestions?

yeah the box sizes are perfect vicki i use boxes for my snakes as humidity is better which is good when theyre shedding and heats well with heat mat or cable and i also find they are better for the more nervous speices like the royal pythons etc(bit off topic from corns...sorry ) all the best with your rack plans and hope all goes to plan ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D lee

Well ive decided to put shelves up with moveable brackets so I can just move them wider when I move them to bigger tubs. Ive so far bought a load of tubs and going to get the shelves soon. Cant wait.
Also decided on the heat strips as I cant find anyone with experience using heat cables. Will post the pics when its done. Will be quite a few weeks yet though ;D
