Well, as promised in my indroduction post, here are some pics of my lovelies, hope you like them as much as I do. First off, this is Annie my female Anery who is just coming up for a year old. This is Amber, my female yearling Amel (I think I read somewhere that she is in fact a sunglow amel but dont quote me on that, I know absolutely nothing about morphs and/or genetics) Now for the three I'm looking after. Dont know their ages though. Banda the male Anery Mao the male Butter and Kipusa the female Reverse Oketee While I'm at it, I may aswell post some pics of the others eh? So, this is my unsexed CXBRB which I'm still looking for a name for Eddie my female Beardie Monty the Bearded Collie and Meg the Border Collie pup there are a few cats but I dont have any pics of them yet and my spiders are still all tiny babies so the pics of them are pretty rubbish really but hey, all these should keep ya going for a while. Well, I got a couple of new additions the other day. I know they're not exactly exotics but I love them and just wanted to show them off lol They are soooo sweet and tame as bricks already. Here is.... Nigel And Collin and together curled up all snug in my hoody pocket I am a huuuuge fan of rats and have been for about ten years now. My last guy died a happy old man several months ago now and I've been lost without him. Then I spotted these guys in pets at home the other day and fell in love and just had to have them. Yet another early birthday prezzie lol but can ya blame me. I do need to get another leash now so I can take them both out for walks in the summer (well, I say walks but I've always just had them sat on my shoulder, the leash is just to make sure that if they ever do get spooked and peg it they wont get far. Never had a problem in ten years of keeping rats and taking them everywhere with me but it's better to be safe than sorry. Plus the looks you get off some people are just priceless )

I can imagine the looks ;D I have never been close to a pet rat just wish i knew someone with one so that i could see for myself how great pets they make. I have had hamsters, mice and gerbils but never rats. Those look lovely wee things.

Oh god, I tell ya, out of all the rodents I have owned, rats are definately my favourite. They're so affectionate and you can totally train them to do things. Nothing special mind you lol best I've got out of any of mine is to come when called and trained them to do their business on a bit of kitchen roll lol Of course, all this could have been repeated coincidence like the time I got one of my old boys to fetch my lighter and cigarette's for me (had to stop him doing this when the cheeky begger stuck his head in my pocket one day, pulled out my cigarette packet, opened it, piched a cigarette and ran off with it lmfao dont smoke anymore though so wont have to worry about that again ) But yeah they really do make excelent pets and in the whole time I've had them I have never once been bitten. Sure they give you the occassional test nibble to see if yer edible or not from time to time but they are always very gentle about it and never hurts let alone cause any injury. Not saying they wont bite btw, just saying it's quite rare in my experience. I reckon you should get a couple, I promise you, you will fall in love with the little things.

So true. I was had a rat and he was amazing. They're so smart and they kinda get attached to you. Our rat lived much longer than he was supposed to. I'd say it's one of the best rodents you can own.
