I agree completely with Dave when you buy a pet you commit yourself for the rest of its life. A parent wouldn't have a child then a couple of years later get bored and abandon it, would they? Moving to a new environment with new people and possibly other animals is extremely stressful for any animal and should be avoided at all cost. Of course there is extreme circumstances when the latter can not be avoided but it would have been nice, if this is the case, for these circumstances to be mentioned by the actual person selling the animal.

i actually spoke to sam about this he is selling it cos he no longer likes corns, he feels that it has become a chore to look after tango and hes more interested in pythons!

Thats disgraceful. I am sure that when he bought the snake he was told it was a 20+ years commitment and should have been prepared for that. I know if i did that something like that my parents might let me sell them but i would never be allowed another pet while living under their roof. In my opinion even if it had become a chore (I see no reason why it should) he should have continued to give the snake the best possible care for the rest of its life. And that snake does not look very old at all how long will it be before he decides that say bearded dragons are more interesting than pythons? animals are not like toys that can be thrown in a corner and forgotten about when you get fed up!

Sounds like sams is going to get stuck in a routine of getting more animals, then getting rid once the novalty has worn off. Sam i'll have the snake off you with the setup for £50, or £65 if you can arrange delivery, at least then the snake will have a long term home, just don't buy another animal with the money.

I'm not to happy about this either but at the end of the day its his decision if he wants to sell his snake for some new sports ware or a new skateboard heck its his decision to fiddle with an innocent animals life like that.

>:(I'm afraid Sam has made me very cross! Is he a small child that has no idea about pets? if he isn't then he is behaving like one! There are people like vicki that are doing their upmost to help a hatchling and make sure it has the best possable life. and their are people like Sam that couldn't give a toss!Snakes are not just a 5 min wonder. did he not look up and find all the information he could on snakes? wot was he expecting to do with it? leave it in the corner and just let it get on with it. Our corns are part of our family and i wouldn't consider giving up 1 of my children cos they were hard work so i wouldn't give up my snakes. All i can say is that its best that the snake does find a new home with someone that will look after it and give it the home that it deserves. people like sam should not be able to keep pets! sorry if this is abit rude but its how i feel!

its almost worth me adding him again just to have a go (yes sam i did block you) lozzer send sam a message from me: once you sell your corn snake and decide you no longer want your ball python and sell that, take the money and put it anywhere other than in a pet/reptile shop cash till! (i could sujest a nice place for it, but i dont want to make this too rude!) that is all i have to say on this, obviously john his skateboard deck is gonna cost him £80

I'm not paying £80 for a snake he doesn't want, fair enough if it was an expensive morph, i would have paid £100 then, but as it is it's a reverse okeetee at worst and and amel at best (not knocking the morph's, but you guys know what i mean). Also it's about 8 monthes old, and for £100 i can get an anery, snow or lav, with a 2 foot viv and everything thrown in, including 5 feeds from my local petshop, what would you spend £100 on?
Sorry Sam it's £65 for the lot including courier or nothing from me, thats my last offer on this setup.

IMO cut the kid some slack, maybe hes got financial problems, heaven forbid any of you members get in the same boat and have to sell off your whole collections and feel they are unable to provide it with the care it/they needs and its in good health and the kid has offered it to his mates first who are knowledgeble in the care of cornsnake before selling it to just anyone as you people know your stuff.
maybe one of you could just take the corn as a rehome until a permanant and suitable home is found and a 3x2 cage for a 8 month snake is a bit big imo and he could have that for what he wanted and keep the corn in a suitable sized contico box or faunarium
i fully agree with the points made and i am not doubting any of you hope you find a home for your amel corn with or without viv lee

Ummmmm How is looking after a corn a chore? It probably needs the least attention out of any pet in the world to take care of....I mean changing water and feeding takes a matter of minutes. That's sad. A hamster is more work! He doesn't deserve that royal either.

Wow john those are good prices copared to mine. Although Dan's stock is proberly the best prices around his reptiles aren't (I suppose you can't choose your breeder but you can choose your supplier) also he is good friends with his breeder so he knows what he is getting and can change his order at any time. Price wise it cost me £50 for my carolina (normal I believe) and £60 for my anery. quite pricey. But for a 4 foot viv it is £85 in any colour, ready built and fitted with a light which i believe is quite a good price. Is it? I have been investigating them that is why I chose that example. Plus i don't happen to be too keen on ferrets ;D. Much rather spend the money on a snake .

The 2 foot viv he supplies are home built (nothing wrong with em, just cheap to manufacture), he build them at a cost of around £20 including glass (4mm thick). He does have set prices for his snakes tho, and all hatchling corns are £55, so the figure is probabley a total saving of maybee 20-25 pound, if sold seperatley.
