I have a question. What do you do when you go on a long vacation? Normally we have someone who looks after the dog, our cats and goldfish during that period and that person will be able to look after the snake during that time too. The question I have is about feeding. I know snakes can live for weeks without food. The person who is looking after our animals reluctantly agreed to feed the snake once during a 3 week vacation, but could I get away with feeding the snake a double portion the day before we leave and let him work on that for three weeks, or do you think that is too long? He usually gets his food once every 7 to 10 days. Your input is welcome...

As long as the water is changed, i would let the person feed the snakes once (say after 2 weeks of looking after them, just to make sure their hungrey). This wont hurt the snake (s) at all.
