someone pointed the annual Snake Day in Houten (near Utrecht) in Holland out:

I've never been, but it could be a good excuse for a short trip to " The Dam". Nowadays Ryanair has some extremely cheap deals from the UK to Holland. Easyjet and V-bird have decent prices too.
