Hi i bought a royal python starter kit cost me £69 and it was a ex display thing it included:2 foot viv cobra heat mat thermometer substrate book hide water bowl live moss humidity gauge artificial plant the substrate is called coconut bark and is it ok to use? And i thought to play it safe and buy one of nbr's cb royals instead of gillworths cf royals. And as soon as i sell my go kart i will have enough to buy 2:4 footer vivs and my royal!!!!!!I CANT WAIT!!!

coconut bark is fine for bp's as it helps with the humidity (a little to damp for corns though), but will keep your bp happiley at about 40% with no additional spraying/shed box etc.
Check to make sure but i think it's the coconut bark i mean, Dave?

reptile bark is made basically from coconut shells (hense the title), it will definatly help to keep the humidity but i prefer to buy aspen and spray kiera once every 2-3 days with water to keep her body healthy and her happy!

lozzer, best thing to do is try the two out, look around websites for good info on what other people who own bps use, just find the high an lows of the two, louise what do you use?

use newspaper with all snakes as they tend to swallow substrate while feeding resulting in impaction which is fatal to the snake or when feedibg put down a few sheets of newspaper or plain kitchen towel to prevent this

I use the coconut bark for my corn and it's fine. It sticks to their poo too so it makes it easier to clean.
