Jo the grow to about the same size of corns in lengh.... but weigh about 4-6 times as much as their a thicker snake. Feeding wise they are good eaters if they are started that way, but they can fast, and i'm talking a fast of 6-9 monthes being average, viv wise a 4ftlong and 2ft wide and tall viv will do an adult bp, but a 5-6ft long 1 would be better.
You can (if its a good snake) sit for an hour and watch corrie and eastender with one of those wrapped around your arm or neck, but little one's can be a little aggresive to start off with they soon melow after 10-20 handleing sesions.
Thats about all my general knowedge on bp's, i do know some more, but Dave is the bp specialist and can ansaw more than i can.

if the body is a lot thicker would you still feed with the same rule as a corn , with the food being no bigger than twice as fat as the body and not much smaller, or would you go by the neck? also how big would the hatchlings be ?

Hatchling bp's are usually around 15-18 (i think) and feeding wise a hatchling can eat a fuzzie or rat pup streaght off, they usually eat large mice or medium rats when adults. From what i've read you are supposed to feed to about 1.5 times the size if the head, as this will cause a similar lump to that found on cornsnakes, but Dave will be able to let us know if thats right.

ive got 3 and they prefer smaller vivaria when small as are naturally a shy secretive snake which makes them feel secure 3x2x2 is ample for a adult royal and make sure it feeds a few times before attempted to handle for long peroids as it can put them off feeding its a very nice royal your going to get and best of luck with it lee

sorry, havn't been on today as i have been taking some new pics which i will have by friday-saturday ;D, well i can see this thread has taken off! i thankfully had loads of knowledge when i started as my dad owned a bp for a few years and passed a lot of what he knew to me, I handle my bp for half hour to an hour every 2 days (apart from the 48 hours after feeding), my bp is now around 3 foot and i feed her small mice once every five days, the main problems with the bps are feeding as they tend to fast for next to no reason mine is a really good feeder at the moment but she could suddenly change! on the note of sites i have recommened the small sites that i put here john1979.proboards43.com/index.cgi?board=Pythons&action=display&thread=1110924522and i will put some more up when i have more time to get the links ;D, my bp is now in the 4 foot tank which i bought her last year and should last her a while and i wouldnt suggest buying a big viv for one straight away as it will stress them!
