have you had an "of feeding" day with chance no. she has always ate wonderfully. she dont strike or coil her food though. she seems afraid of it. she will go up and sniff the dead food and whenit touches her nose she backs up real fast. this goes on about 10 minutes. eventually she goes up to it and opens her mouth real slow and starts to eat it.

i get RTB for 125.00. chances tank is 6x2x2. but i am getting her a 8x4x2 built. it is a present for her getting better. but a 6x2x2 cage is big enough for a full grown boa.

also i have been told that the idea i had will weigh to much and so i have to buy 3 tanks and put one on top of another!!! be careful on going to hig in the air. rtb have to have a heat gradient of 88 hot side and 78 coolside and basking of about 93. they have to have belly heat too. they need an undertank heater. human heat pads work great also boas humidity should be around 65+ if the tanks are real high it is real hard to keep humidity and heat

how long does it take a red tail to reach say 6 foot? it is hard to tell. they all grow at thier own rate. a female will reach that with no problem in 2 yrs. females are larger then males. i also think females are less aggressive.

i think i wanna get a bigger rtb to start with rather rather than get one as a baby chance was 7 foot when i got her. if you want a bigger snake check the rescues. on my site there is a 8 foot one that jim rescued. he wants 50.00 for it cause that is what the vet bills came to. but the snake is aggressive cause the old owner never picked it up for a year. there are many snake rescues that just gives the snakes to good homes.
